Conceal Carry permits are no longer required by the state of Alabama.
However, if you travel to another state, you may be required to have a valid permit if carrying a concealed weapon.

Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces that are Honorably Discharged are entitled to a free permit. (Must provide DD-214)
Permits are now available for terms of 1 year, 5 years or Lifetime.
To obtain a lifetime permit, the applicant must have had a permit for at least 5 years.
Alabama residents that are 19 years of age may apply for a permit.
Alabama residents that are 18 years of age and serving on active duty may apply for a permit.
Alabama resident that are retired from the U.S. Armed Forces qualifies for a lifetime permit.
Permits may be picked up Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm CDT at the Chambers County Courthouse.
We no longer offer permits at the Lanett Annex.
